No. Not in the sense of risk-free, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. A bot can get an account banned, and a careless download can cost you more than the account. What you can do is understand the risks and decide with open eyes.
Risk one: your account can be banned
Botting is against the terms of service of the official Metin2 client and against the rules of nearly every private server. Enforcement varies widely. Some servers run client-side protection, some rely on game masters and player reports, some send captcha checks, and many do all three. A ban can be temporary or permanent, can arrive weeks after the session that caused it, and usually cannot be appealed. If you bot, you are accepting that the character and everything on it may disappear.
Nobody can promise you will not be banned. Not a developer, not a forum thread, not this site. The responsibility for using a third-party tool sits with the person who runs it.
What an "Anti Ban" option actually is
BluRay has an Anti Ban setting on its Settings screen. According to the official description it reacts when another player is detected. That addresses one specific situation, a person walking up to a character that is farming on its own. It does nothing about server-side logs, client protection or a game master who watches from out of sight. Treat it as one precaution among several and never as a guarantee.
What makes a ban more likely
- Impossible values. Attack or movement speed far beyond what gear can give is easy for a server to spot. See our speed hack guide.
- Endless sessions. A character that never sleeps, never chats and never visits town stands out in any log.
- Crowded spots. Popular maps mean more witnesses and more reports.
- Taking kills. Stealing other players' monsters is the quickest way to be reported. BluRay's NoKS preference exists for that reason.
- Ignoring whispers. A character that never answers is the classic sign.
Risk two: what you download
The second risk has nothing to do with the game. Cheat and bot files are a favourite disguise for password stealers, because the people looking for them are already willing to run unknown programs. A stolen game account is the mild outcome; saved browser passwords and payment details are the serious one.
- Download only from the official BluRay site or the developer's own thread in the Turkmmo community, never from a re-upload, a video description or a file passed around in chat.
- Follow the instructions that ship with the package and the installation guide on the official site, and nothing else.
- Be wary of anything that asks for your game password outside the game client.
- Use a password for your game account that you use nowhere else, and switch on any PIN or two-step protection the server offers.
- Keep Windows and your security software up to date.
Sensible habits if you go ahead anyway
- Test on a character you could afford to lose before touching your main.
- Keep sessions to a length a person could plausibly play.
- Leave speed settings at believable values.
- Stay within reach of the keyboard so you can answer if someone speaks to you.
- Read your server's rules; some are far stricter than others.
So, is it worth it?
That depends on how much the account means to you. If losing it would hurt, do not bot on it. If you decide the time saved is worth the gamble, limit what is at stake, be careful where the software comes from, and do not mistake a settings checkbox for immunity. For how to judge a tool before installing it, see what to look for in a Metin2 bot.
